Just edited - typo, inlet valves are 42.5mm not 44.5!
Could probably fit onto a 750 motor with some minor work such as rings around the liner spigots.

Very strange valve springs.
Paul

Apparently very stiff outers with only 4(3?) windings. Inners look rather normal. Rockers and cams are going to have a short, hard life... ;)

Inners and outers are normally wound in the opposite direction to each other. Never seen otherwise in "standard" applications.

Thanks, as supplied by W, small things for a new owner to change if they want to.

Found springs wound in same direction in an experimental 1973 factory SFC engine (photo).
Despite this fact I chose to use springs that were wound in opposite direction, for my peace of mind.

Interesting. Supplied by very reputable dealer but other knowledgeable people can tell the spring rate and preload of fitted springs from a photo. So you know who made these and from what material and heat treatment? If you do, and they are unsuitable, I will ask W to swap them.

Hi Max, let one thing be clear, I am not criticizing the springs in the cylinder head you’re selling. I have never seen those so can’t comment on their functionality and or quality.
I only reacted to Piet’s comment that he had never seen them in standard applications. Now you can hardly call the 1973 works racer heads standard, with their very different design, valve angles, ports, rockers, cams and pistons to match, but that’s where they did use (or try?) them. Maybe I should have just fitted them and they might have worked just fine.

Since all you prospective buyers are just waiting for a sniff of a price expectation to prise open the wallet, how about $1250 US? A fair amount less than cost, at a rough estimate, but that’s vehicles for you!
