heel-toe shifter 750

Hi all- due to an old injury, I find it necessary to fit a heel toe to my SF1. I have acquired a factory alloy one similiar to what one Piet has posted a pic of in the past. Unfortunately, the only way it can interface with the existing footpeg is with the peg rocked up to the next index tooth which puts it way to high. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether different footpegs were required or if I could get more pics of one fitted to see where the peg is located relative to the shifter. Unfortunately I don't have have much in fabrication equipment to play with. Any ideas welcome. I have a feeling what I'll probably need to do is find an ugly used one to cut and weld.lav fr2.jpglav fr1.jpg

That's a lever for the early 60's 125 models.

The 750 lever seems to be made from the 125 item and a short vertical bit with splines, welded mid-lever so the rear half of the lever can pass over the footrest. Don't have access to my photos at the moment, try to dig out the pics I posted in another thread (can't remember which).

No, I think there was 2 Armco Daves. Dave R was riding Marty's twin down near Picton, and the other, Armco Dave, was riding a Bimota SB6 when that incident happened on a Putty Road run with the club. That stunning bike was originally owned by the Chairman of the Board of Qantas's wife before Dave bought it. Come to think, the latter might have been known as MX Dave from an incident involving a very big bump on Buckets Way. So many incidents over the years.

Armco Dave (Roberts) I was thinking of…. for some reason I thought he was riding Martys SF into the Armco near Picton.
 
Dave taught English to foreign students and owned a Zane 650; this was when the club met at Glebe; it ended up in bits for months in a bike shop in Bathurst. He then bought that Bimota for a sickeningly cheap $11,000 from Action Suzuki in Parramatta, and while trying to keep up with a certain Motod, put the Bimota under the Armco on the Putty. The last time I saw him and that Bimota was by coincidence getting fuel near Canberra Airport, heading to that Italian Bike show we went to. The MX bit came from him again, trying to keep up with Walter on his Harley, heading to Urala on Thunderbolts. He hit a massive bump and got so much air and missed braking for a T intersection. Chris, I think saw it happen.
 
That Bimota SB6 was such a stunning bike, really subtle, almost nondiscript. Mostly Gun Metal Grey with Bright red "speed line highlights". That time I saw it when getting fuel on the outskirts of Canberra, I walked right past it bearly noticing it, at a glance it just looked like most Japanese Sports bikes. What brought it back to my mind was seeing a post from Richard S, the Canberra Laverda Spondon bloke, with 3 of his bikes photographed, one being an SB6.
