Welcome Anthony, there's a great bunch of Laverdisti in Victoria, not the least your neighbor big Mo! Just be aware he will probably try to buy your bike.
If the numbers are 1200*1275* then yes as per Red's advice, it's not a Jota, may be a Mirage but most likely a normal 1200 which is a great bike with a nice torquey delivery. The numbers for each series start at 1000, so 1275 is a pretty early example. Post some photos of the bike here and we can advise further.![]()

Well... paint, fairing, indicators, rear shocks, mirror, seat cover and exhaust certainly aren't as they left the Breganze gates. Apart from that, a 1200 Lav is a nice bike to have, congratulations!View attachment 59570
This is my laverda 1200 what you see on the bike is all original
I am going to pull you on that one Steve, as models didn't start at 1000 but at 1001 (that's a whole one digit out!)
Fairing may be original as it looks like an SFC 750 fairing but it was never fitted to a 1200 by the factorySorry to say but the fairing is original from Laverda Italy
Thank you for your reply the bikes exhaust system is 3 in to 1 in to 2 (25643 Km only from new) i am going to restore the bike if you go italy when i was living there in the 70s you could buy parts from the factory for 750 1000 and 1200"The numbers for each series start at 1000, so 1275 is a pretty early example"

1275 is probably 1978, around 2000 1200's made that year, much more in numbers than the 1000's, the Jota 1200 America was just a very slightly modded 1200 or 1200T (essentially the same thing anyway, different name for different markets.)
your bike did not have a fairing when it was new, nor a 3 into 1 exhaust, and the colour is not stock
as paul says the fairing doe look like one from an SFC750 endurance race bike, but there are many copiers of that back in the day. Thankfully your bike is well before the dodgy centre main bearings which started at 1519.
Looks a great project, it will be a great riders bike that you can use for almost any type of journey, my own 1200TS, owned by me for 42 years has always lit my fire and I have done close to 250,000 kilometres, I have others as well
CLEM
You are right i do have all the parts of the bike in a box for the paint it is the right its the light coming for the lazer light roofFairing may be original as it looks like an SFC 750 fairing but it was never fitted to a 1200 by the factory
And there are many other parts on your bike non standard as Piet has pointed out, your bike is far from factory original
mmm reckon could be second time round the clock(25643 Km only from new)
