Hello,

Thinking about buying a bike in Italy. Maybe somebody knows all about this.

Am i right that the seller has to:
Hand over the license plate and documents to the PRA and ask for the cancellation for export?
In addition have to make a new revision/ road test/MOT that must be no older than six months?
A carrier document of certifying the pick-up and delivery in a foreign country --how to make that if you pick up yourself?

Cancellation of Italian license can be done once the bike is in your hands, you send the license plate back to the seller. You may well need the bike to be licensed so as to be able to license it at home. I had that problem in France and had to license the bikes in Belgium which is more easy going.

The answer to all your other questions rests with the administration of your country, you won't get an answer here. Ask them.

Thanks Paul,
No problems in my end, just need the bike and original registration paper- no registration/ license plate needed.
But it might be an issue with seller to part with the license plate.
In the meanwhile found something here about new regulations (likely there is an official government site in Italian:-): https://gosselin-moving.com/en/news/shipping-motor-vehicles-registered-italy-for-export
Could still be useful with a fellow English/ Italian speaking Laverda-colleague.

There's a couple of Italian speakers on this forum. Let's hope they react.
