Help please, Marzocchi fork

Hi All

See this little darling? It's the rebound valve in the bottom of a Marzocchi 38mm fork stanchion: 31 on the attached drawing, part number 60 212 068. Note how one end is a larger diameter than the other.





And my question is, which way up does it go?

Cos while cleaning out my forks, guess what? I find one is in one way up, the other is in the other way up... Which don't seem right, somehow.

All thoughts appreciated.

depends on which side of the road the bike is intended to be driving on, is it left hand drive. or right hand drive?
