Hi Beam light issue

To all the electrical wizzards I've just redone all my electrical harness and have an issue with the high beam light it's working opposite to what it should, shows beam light on in low beam light goes out on high beam please stop my brain from going round in circles, cheers and Happy New Year to all  :-\

Pretty simple really. Your high beam indicator light is connected to low beam. Probably a cock-up in the spaghetti of wires in the headlight shell. Just find the beam light wire, disconnect it from the low beam circuit and connect it to the high beam circuit.

while we have peeps looking at an electrical thread, my low beam is very dim (virtually unusable at night), but high beam is as bright as it should be i.e. still rubbish by today's standards. What fault should I look for in the low beam wiring???
Sorry for the slight hijack....

A bad connection somewhere along the way.  Can't be a bad ground connection because the hi-beam would then also be affected.  Look at the switch connections, the contacts are quite small and a bit of grime can make a big difference.  Long-term simple remedy would be to wire in a couple of relays to both hi- and lo-beam... instant bright lights.

When I rewired my 3C the same thing happened to me, I just switched the wires at the headlight bulb, b/c the high beam indicator light was working correctly with the switch position.

Try a new globe if you have one. Better still, running relays on both high and low beam is a VERY good idea. Relying on old wiring running through switchgear and harnesses is never going to give you effective lighting.
