High fuel consumption

Probably the squirt from the accelerator pumps! If you get the carbs off the engine, it squirls like 2 meters or more when you open throttels. You can turn this down on the screws with the red paint on it, 0,5 meters squirling is far enough!

"I ditched the pumpers more than 30 years ago it made no difference in performance" said Dave.

Ah well it had more profound repercussions than that Scrumpy. It made him sleep in a cowshed.
