I've been struggling to get a 3C tank at a reasonable price so I'm considering getting this one repaired. I poked most of the holes in it with a screwdriver and I think I've caught just about everything, the rear of the tank is better. My question is do you think it is economically viable to sort this out and can anybody reccommend anyone in the UK to do it or should I keep looking for another tank. regards Pat

Dead do-able that is Pat, fairly straightforward repair, I could mend it for you but not for a while as I'm a bit snowed under here. Try Gavin Spencer.

thats not a tank its a tea bag,
have it sandblasted before you do anything
Gavin recomended #2 (mainly because I aint got time either)

Pat,

Agree with the others - it is definitely repairable (I assume the top is a-ok).

Do keep an eye on ebay - I had given up hope, but eventually tripped over a perfect tank and it went for for ?134.  They do turn up at the right price now & again.

Neale,

I think it probably was - if it was....huge thanks  8) 8)  My old tank was a but...ummm?....ragged.

Really pleased with it (was looking for one for ages).

Cheers

Why not have an ally one made?  they generally cost between 500 - 600 Pounds and there are quite a few good guys around who could easily copy your tank!

Try    www.thetankshop.com  would look very cool!  and even painted would still save a lot of weight.

Pat,
do not bother with the repair.
Got a Jota tank, VGC, just a week ago.
Need it as a model, to take mould off of it, for carbon Jota tank project.
When Irene and you come to Serbia you can take it.
Or you can have carbon, at a better price than the aluninium one.
Boba

Ok Boba keep it for me and thanks  :D

Finally bought a van so your old 3C will be on its way from France to the UK soon. Then I can get it registered and start using it. I had a little run on it last time I was down there, no helmet, no registration plate ha ha felt like a rebel (daft bugger)  :D

Would love to see the Carbon tank too.

Thanks to everybody for the advice, the tank will stay as a teabag for the time being but it might be worth repairing eventually. I've thrown it in the corner in disgust.

Regards Pat.
