Holes in Dellorto Phf 36

I'm ultrasonic cleaning my carbies and the hole on the right is blocked. Does it actually do anything or do I have to unblock it somehow? Have tried compressed air and carburettor cleaner spray to no avail.

One of those bores is redundant, it leads to nowhere. Probably used for some other version of the same carb.

The open hole will be on the mixture screw side so if the carb was the other hand the other hole would be open and the mixture screw on the other side.

This is puzzling me, I have four carbs here and it is always the right hand hole which goes to nowhere as far as I can tell. It doesn't seem to matter which side the mixture screw is on. I can blow through two of them on each carb so is it safe to assume the right hand one is supposed to be blocked? It isn't even drilled on two of the carbs.

Without going out and looking at my old Dells, I think the air supply to the pilot mixture circuit relates to the position of the actual jet inside the float bowl, the position of which doesn't vary, regardless of S/D (left/right) config.

My RGS Dellortos sometimes also have holes. The jets of the accelerator pumps felt out, found them under the starter. Did not feel any change when riding.
