Sad news for Laverda race fans but I?ve just had news Hugh died last week.
For those that aren?t familiar with the name, he was the second person to race a Laverda at the TT and the first on a triple back in 1974. A regular competitor, on a variety of makes, on both British and continental race tracks, he often rode alongside another Laverda racing legend Ray Knight, in endurance races.

his wife, Eunace, was also a competent road racer
I had the pleasure of club racing against them both at various times, even though they were probably only getting in a "bit of practice" for national,it was still fun.

RIP Hugh, you actually did what so many of us could only dream of, racing a Laverda triple around the TT course! God speed mate.
