Hi Lavermax, I would say this is a one off. The original one is a heavy steel cap, but I could offer you one made from aluminium. Ciao, Gert

As Gert says, the original is steel, a lot heavier than the magnesium casing it screws into.
If you don't accept Gert's offer, you'll have to make one.

That is the filler and cap of a 1971-1972 works racer. They were handmade at the factory using a fuel cap from the 50ies. Some of my racers have this filler, like the Segoni.

You’d hope the works mechanics would know that the race bikes take oil down the spout with that fuel/oil cap off, and not fuel.

Legend has it he made 6 in a batch. He started at 1:00pm and did OT until 7:30 pm…….. talk about a big job, a bottle of red wine later he was a pissed as a newt, but managed to drive his Alfa home without a scratch.

In the meantime I found the original steel cap of the 1973 Bol d’Or SFC. No idea yet where the cap originated from, or if it was especially made for this machine.
