thinking about the cable type operation for the clutch, (or hydraulic for that matter) does anyone know if the cover fitted to the SF twins will fit on the 1000/1200 triples (180 type obviously) they certainly look the same, but can they be swapped about as is? or maybe with some modification?

Hi Clem I have fitted a 750 cover to a 1000 before and it fitted and would have worked but one of the edges of the casting is cut different and doesn't follow the line of the crankcase if that makes sense.

5 minutes with a hacksaw and file makes a 750 cover fit a triple nicely.  :D  Front contour is a bit different.

thanks Mo and Piet,
makes me wonder why the triple wasn't engineered to use the twins outer gearbox parts rather than make differing ones, but great to know that it is a doable doddle.

Which I now have for my 750 special, Mauro? Don't think the cut you made will be that noticeable. Clem, I think they're the same part, just modded by the factory for the triples - ie no new casting.
