Inside dimensions swing arm

Ha Hooksey is it on the road yet, is DCR Ian? What rubber is on it.

Hey Vince, "Dam Classic Racing".  Rubber is BT 016 110/80 and 150/70. Been run in at Broadee over Easter, plenty of feel with some decent rubber which inspires too much confidence ,which could become expensive  :o  Will be fun finding the limits..............any spare chamfered S1 alternator covers anyone??  :D

nice hooksey,love the 110/150 combo,is that rim 3.5?had a gixxer 4 inch, but am swapping to  3.5 rear akront-the 150 fit alright?

I have a BT016 on the front of mine, had an interesting issue recently. Arrived at a damp corner and didnt notice, the road was dry till then, that new black bitumen looks wet all the time. I was a bit aggressive with the throttle and got a big push on the front and a rear slide. All good closing the throttle but it was a bigger reaction than I was happy with. So I will be a bit more careful on wet roads till I see how they are. A lot less tread than my usual rubber.

I measured an SFC1000 swingarm for length last week and it is the same as a std SF (460mm at centre of axle slot). Also confirmed by Maurice when i was looking at buying his. Not sure if RGS is longer.

Pretty weird that a swingarm could 'open' if it's bolted up with a wheel and axle. It could bend to one side, but open up? That's an odd one. I'd be worried about chain alignment until you get it straight and centered.

I ran a 150 tyre on the 3.5" astralite, mostly bridgestones for years and years. last one lasted 3000 kays and at the time was $300. Was in Sydney then and hooning the old road so was worth it for the grip. upon returning to WA where corners are rare the middle just chewed out in no time. Fitted a set of GSXR rims 4" rear and fitted Avon Storms and just over 6000 kays it still has quite abit of tread left.
A 150 on a 3.5 rim does pull the tyre in somewhat and on the road never managed to get wear all the way to the edge.
I reckon a 4" rim is better suited to the 150 tyre.
As for swing arms, I'd a thought the chain run was the limiting factor to tyre size rather than the s/arm.

Cougar, Shes a 2.5 / 4.0 set up, gives ya 4mm chain run clearance with a 530 0ring chain.

Probably sneak a 160 in there with 520 offset sprockets and chain.
ya got that Donk in yet ?

Nice set up Dave. Better keep your eye on your bike if I?m around, the wheels will be missing and bike left sitting on besser blocks :P

Wouldnt expect anything less from a Goulburn Valley lad.............just be prepared to cop some 4x2 over the back of your skull just as your bending over,,,,,, wouldnt want you to fall far and damage those good looks of yours  :-* ;)

Likewise with the 750 Swing arm, straight swap with triples, allows a 150 rear with 4mm chain clearance Nice  8)

Chain clearance should be identical to a triple ... determined by the chainline (ie the distance from longditudinal centre of bike to equiv centre of sprocket. And yes, they allow wider tyre fitting - no clearance probs with a 160x17, but smaller dia helps.

Not quite sure why they didn't use the 750 swingers on all the triples???
