Intermittent fault

A bit like this, Carlo.

Basically, they were Suzuki switches made, I believe, by Nippon Denso.  Do a Google search under Suzuki GT 750/550 (possibly GS 750?).  Genuine ones (if available) will cost you a fair sum, knock-offs considerably less.

Available from Wolfgang or GT Reiner. Red may even have some in stock.  Not excessively expensive in the scheme of things.

Got one of these, although it has four wires and I reckon mine has three but hey ho!

Just cut one of the wires off.
I think the wire colours may also be different to your original colours too.
Happy fitting!

Here's the 3 terminal wiring diagram, followed by the 4 to show the difference. You've got a bit of head-scratching to do, but not too much ...  :D.  Start with the red feed from the battery via the fuse box ...

All you need from the ig switch is one power circuit through it in the "on" position. The other circuits can be ignored. Has anyone ever parked their bike with the parking lights on?

Me,I parked a car once with the parkers on and flattened the battery in 10 minutes.Didn't do that again

If you are in the habit of leaving a vehicle parked with the park lights on, I'd suggest you replace the globes with LEDs. They'll draw a fraction of the power compared to incandescent globes. You could probably leave them on for hours without it bothering the battery.

No! I'll just be ignoring the 4th wire ;)

Cut off the grey wire.

Agree.  Now I may have got this wrong, so Carlo please check the switch functions and your wiring before proceeding (and anyone else feel free to shoot me down in flames if you think I've screwed up ..  :o).  But I think it should be:

Connect
Existing Red 30 (fused battery feed in) to new switch Red
Existing Brown 15 (switched feed out) to new switch Orange

For parking lights
Existing Red 58 (lights feed out) to new switch Brown (or Black it would seem in your case ...)

"Connect
Existing Red 30 (fused battery feed in) to new switch Red
Existing Brown 15 (switched feed out) to new switch Orange"

That is how I have always wired them (to the relay :)
