motor out for a head gasket and valve / cam clearance adjustments, clean the frame before re-install and then this ....

this is a triple and all other frame 'measurements / alignments' look normal and straight, the welds are OK, no cracks3A2062DF-CDC4-4242-AE8E-A9D442DD5CB8.jpeg

You wouldn't be the first to have it "repaired".

Check where the down tubes mate to the headstock, totally wonky!

I wonder what the header would look like if the frame tube was straight? Probably a very difficult combo of bends would be required. I spose we could ask those who've 'repaired' the bent down tube :ROFLMAO:

so the answer is "yes, it's normal" then ?

phew ... 'cos it feels fine on the road and everything fits
Yes, is normal
I had to put him out of his misery.

It was either that or scallop the header, or no l/h header at all. Or do what H/D did with their rear pot ..... fuck up everything.

Now go to sleep.

I’m travelling atm and have had two nights of bad sleep. Last night was the pits.... the smoke alarm in hotel room squarked every couple of minutes, FFS! I left early (how much can a koala bear) and left a nice note on the counter. ‘Dear sir’ was replaced with ‘You c@nts need to know .....’

At Charters Towers Pete, expect a call in a couple of days🤙

the factory prototype triple had a cut and shut in the left pipe, to kick it out of the way of a straight down tube. You have to guess here but I would say that someone decided it was cheaper (but by how much?) to have Verlichi (frame subcontractor) put the kink in the frame rather than the a cut and shut in the left pipe.

that "defect" carried over to the totally different framed RGS type, how could that happen?
