In preparation for building my second Laverda I am sorting and inventorying my extra Twin parts.
And I have encountered a quandary. (it is a small and gentle one and I hope to have it house-broken soon.)
From my #15517 GT the primary chain tensioner, also called adjuster is a white plastic roller. I cannot find any part number or reference to this tensioner.
I have looked in three different owners manuals (1 US and 2 Euro as there are differences in the descriptions of the parts between the different continents.) And I have checked 2 editions of the Green Book.
All of these references show the curved blade tensioner.
The white roller came out of the #15517 GT at 7,000 miles after it had been in a fire and sat for years. The original owner told me no internal work had been done to this bike while he owned it.
In my engine #4964 the tensioner is the curved blade. This bike had been owned by several people before I got it; the second person was known to disassemble bikes and leave them. But I am assuming the curved tensioner was std in #4964.
So does anyone know of have encountered this white roller tensioner before?
Does anyone have the images of the manual pages with the exploded view and list of descriptions for that same page.
If you think I am being weird or an amal carb about this you are probably right. Don't worry it's not you it's me.
Thanks
