Jaguar has gone nuts!

I have owned three E types, a 420, XJ 6's, several XJS's of both 6 and 12 cylinders, several XJ 40's, an XK8, and since 1992 have not been without at least one or more Jaguars at any one time. This includes the 1992 Jaguar XJ 40 that I had from 1992 until recently when the body rusted off it for the second time at almost 800,000 kms. Currently I own two more 1992 Jaguar XJ 40's, one with 70,000 original kms and the other with 270,000 original kms. I also happily own a gas guzzling Supercharged V8 Range Rover Sport. I have been actively shopping for a lightly used F Type R V8 which will likely be my next Jaguar.

I am bemused by the current "Copy Nothing" ad reveals. I certainly do not resemble any of the folks in the current ads, and those folks certainly do not look like any of the new crop of buyers apparently being targeted in the coming supposedly upmarket cars intended to be contemporary to Rolls, Bentley etc buyers....

this is going to be interesting........ especially trying to get folks to buy into now spelling Jaguar as JaGUar or whatever they are trying to do. Good luck to them.

I've earned a living working on Jaguars for 34 years & have witnessed first hand more than a few blunders including the horrible X-Type launch but I'm reserving judgment on this new ad campaign as it has accomplished a very important task: we're talking about Jaguar! Eagerly anticipating the next ad...

Maybe,,,just maybe, they should have asked Bud Light, Harley Davidson, Victoria’s Secret, Ben & Jerry’s, Disney’s, etc, how such stances destroy financial success . It’s really evident most everywhere what happens when you go down that path.

Impressive!
How is that big Lincoln going?

I thought the youtube thing must've been for something not related to the car company, but no.
The modern battery Jag cars have absolutely no connection with the cars from my past, and this marketing follows the same path, brave new world, or "stop the world I want to get off". The same goes for most of the rebadged universal battery car clones of either a generic SUV or Tesla copy. Yesterday I saw a SUV badged as MG and thought what an insult to the great little everyman´s sports cars of the past. Remember that scooter which Aprilia badged as Laverda?

Sadly, the MG name was a debacle born out of the decision by BMW to offload MG Rover to a bunch of speculative businessman, who then they sold the brand and factory lock stock and barrel to the Chinese. They have then used the brand to establish sales of their own designed SUV and small cars.

The local agent for the new MG's is putting a small Union Jack sticker on the bum of all he sells.

When I first saw that I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Or throw something.

Well…my Land Rover is now Indian, my wife’s mini is German and my lotus is Chinese!

The flags might be British but nowadays the flag poles are not.
