John Prine RIP

He lived mostly in Nashville, but he had a holiday house that his wife liked a lot in Gulfport, which is just down the road a bit from me. It's a beachy neighborhood with lots of little house with front porches opening onto the street, and he was fairly often seen jamming with local musicians on somebody's front porch.
So what the Gulfport community did today is very touching; as many people as possible came out onto their front porches (maintaining social distancing) and played John Prine songs, either recorded or live. A lot of not dry eyes.
I wonder what songs he would have written about COVID-19.

From Stephen Colbert last night, Dave Matthews tribute. My wife and I just watched it and didn't talk for quite some time.
I guess he's had more influence on American thought than in other countries, but I used to hear his songs in Brisbane 40 years ago.

Have seen some great tributes online. He certainly was a highly regarded songwriter amongst multiple genres.
