Jota 120 cutting out at speed

Reg test is straightforward imo - volt meter across the battery - which should at least 13.8 at rest - then crank her - drop to zero would indicate duff cell - start ok voltage should go 15 volts plus then after a minute of so drop back to 14 ( if battery is good ) if it stays at 15 plus and your battery is charged the reg could be boiling the battery - if it doesn’t change voltage from rest it’s buggered the other way

Electric gurus please correct me im

Not an elec gooroo either, but would one of those cheap and cheerful voltmeters fitted to the dash show voltage fluctuations in 'bronco' state? They're a handy little piece of kit anyway ... so worth having.

Thanks SirSid, will do that test before depart. I like the visible voltage meter idea, for now I'll see any voltage fluctuations with the bluetooth gizmo, afterwards!

Just a further comment to my experience above....next time I rode out it stopped down the back lanes and would not start! Recovered home. Keith Nairn's initial advice had been to look for bad contacts..but where to start? Took headlight lens off and looked about..rustled the wiring a bit...nothing obvious. Then after a few minutes pondering, was about to replace the headlight lens when noticed a 4 pin connector not connected! Pushed it together firmly but noticed it didn't have a proper functioned catch. Cable tied it. Have been out on it all day..not a hint of any problem and running superbly😁. I should add that I borrowed a new Sachse box from chairman of Iloc, Keith and put both it and my box into test mode...no sparks, so that confirmed not a box issue, hence the need to look harder for the simpler fault of a loose connection
