Jota 120 info please

Take it to France where you can only do 80kph on rural roads. Might get a bit more mpg???
Or to the Flemish part of Belgium where you can only do 70 kph including main roads, dual carriageways excepted, sometimes.
In France, the 80 and sometimes 90 kph includes main roads, most dual carriageways excepted.
But then, we don't take dual carriageways on motorcycles, do we?

My 1200 Mirage would go onto reserve at between 90 - 100 miles from full ...... ( 140 -160 km , if you must ... ) ..... the only leak was through the petrol tap ...... it was when it stopped leaking which was the main concern for me ........ This happened on a Sunday lunchtime , when reserve stopped gushing through the fuel tap ( an extra 15 miles ..... or something or other in km , if you must ) ) ........................... and I silently coasted to a halt at the entrance to Bowling Green Farm , near Faringdon ( Oxfordshire ) ......

A passing XS650 rider gave me a lift to the nearest filling station in Faringdon .... after a lot of hassle , I eventually had to buy a Plastican to fill with 3- Star ...... XS Man had to be on his way, so I started the 1 mile ( 1.60 km , if you must ) walk back to Bowling Green Farm , only to be stopped by a XJ6 driver , who kindly gave me a lift for the remainder of the way ........

It didn`t make any difference if you were ragging it , or pussyfooting ............... it`s greediness for fuel remained the same .............. ( The Man from Dell`Orto , He say No ... ) .... fiddling about with pilot jets , and needle positions , accelerator pumps ( and main jets , although they wouldn`t make much difference most of the time ) ......... resulted in an extra 10 miles range (16.0 km , if you must ) , before having to grab at those taps and switch to reserve again ............... now 20 miles , instead of just 15 miles ...... ( can`t be bothered anymore ..... work it out for yourselves in km , if you must ...... ) .....

I always fancied getting a spare tank , and having an extension / hump welded onto it , like the one that used to sit on the counter at Slaters ................. ( ex TT , I think ? ) .... but never got round to it ......

BTW .... I found the 1200 , with it`s original flat top 8 : 1 pistons , would run on almost anything ...... During the ` eighties I found it would accept the old 2 - Star fuel quite happily , although I mostly filled up with 3 - Star ........ so that saving helped offset the guzzling a little bit ....... No such option nowadays though .......

1 mile is 1.6 something km.
Laverda are Italian through and through. You wouldn't want British standard gas or Whitworth or whatever screws on them would you?

I think that you might find that Clem knows something about that extended fuel tank at Slaters. More litres for more kilometres.

Thanks Paul .... now corrected ( I think ) ........ Trying to be a smartass and falling flat on my face ....... :) ....... Although...... the Mile has Roman origins ...... Mille Passum , or something like that ( " A thousand paces " ) ....... although the Roman Mile was a little different length wise to our modern one ....... something to do with the Romans having little feet , so five of their paces only measuring three or four of ours , or something like that ........

....... and a lot of my mileage is covered on Roman roads ( long and straight , so suiting a Laverda ) .......

Nice to know someone is checking the nonsense I`m tapping away at ........
