Jota Restoration

Good day from South Africa. I have taken possession a Laverda Jota, engine and frame No. 7334. The bike is stripped, and has been butchered a bit, but looks like it's mostly complete. I intend restoring it back to it's original glory.
Can anyone help with contacts for spares please?
The first things I've noticed that are missing are the speedo and rev counter.
Thanks in advance.
Robin

Must be a series 2 with that number - great bike - spares from all over - Laverda Paradies in Germany - not cheap but a supply - Ricardo Oro in Breganze but you would need to visit !

Hi Robin,

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new acquisition.

I did a full restore of a 1980 Jota a few years back, frame, body work, motor, and much more, so appreciate how much work it can entail. If your Jota is an ex Jhb bike, then at least one thing you shouldn't have to worry too much about is rust.

While you are at it, you might also want to upgrade the ignition (Redax Laverda in Australia provide an Ignitech unit), and change the drive sprockets and chain from 630 to 530 items.

In addition to Laverda Paradies, OCT (Orange Cycle Team) in Germany, and Wolfgang Haerter in Canada, are a good source of parts.

I'll also PM you with the details of two Cape Town Laverda contacts who may be able to provide parts.

Tom
