jota seat lock key ,firing blanks

Hi all , slowly getting all the gremlins sorted on the jota now thanks to help from members , the list is short now seat key and steering lock key, i have a blank for the steering lock so will see my helpful locksmith, but wondered if anyone can suggest a key for the seat before i get to the locksmith incase he has no blanks,

My ignition key doesn't fit my seat lock, managed to find a duplicate key online for the ignition purely through the number stamped on the barrel. Turned out to be an old SUZUKI type.
There's nothing stamped on the seat lock barrel though - would this also be a SUZUKI type?
 
It's recommended to change the plastic Atlas ignition keyed switch for a metal Yamaha switch. The 2nd hand one I bought didn't come with a key. Locksmiths can make a key to fit if they have a blank. It might be possible to get a locksmith to convert either lock to work with the same key, MAYBE.
 
The ignition switches were Suzuki type items. I've never had a key for the seat lock so I don't know the answer to your question but I would bet it's a different type of key.
 
Just checked mine and my seat key is different to my ignition key 🔑 🤔shows how much I use it! 😂

I would have thought it’s not a complicated lock so a good locksmith should be able to find a match for you 👍

I have a seat lock key with the name Cisa on it. It is off a 120 Jota but I can't see the seat lock differing much from a Mk ll Jota. Quick look on ebay would suggest the key and barrels are still around.
 
HOW TO SOLVE THE MULTI KEY PROBLEM AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW

I have had TOG almost from new, 45 years. It came with 3 keys, the seat lock felL out years ago (literally, was not there when I stopped) and has remained an empty hole for decades, similarly, the steering lock got busted, when I had had a tipple too many and locked/left the bike in Crowborough high street and got a cab home (dare not do that, the leaving, these days) the following day I got a lift back to Crowborough to collect the bike, OH DEAR I hadnt brought the keys, well I can get the seat up cant I! so I did a well known trick on 180's to bring everything to life (not saying what that is on the forum) and had just the steering lock to contend with, so sit on bike (on centre stand) place both feet on handlbars, brace arms and shoulders onto luggage rack and one not very hard jolt later, the lock is broken, never bothered to fix it, I mean its useless, so now I have only one key, much simpler, and when leaving the bike in a vulnerable place, I lock it with an anquor chain and a Chubb battleship padlock, over the seat, to make it difficult to lift the front end and load into a van, plus over the seat instead of on the ground, makes the lock/chain much harder to atack

Hi all thanks for the replies .i sorted through every old key i have and i found one that fitted into the barrel profile , so i dissmantled the barrel and tumblers and arranged them to fit my key, A good few attempts tho so i now only have the steering lock key to get cut. i know that these wont stop a thief but i always think if its there it should work. i have a key no and pictures if anyone wants to get a blank
