It's not like Moto Laverda invented the word Jota, FFS!! I use it in Scrabble - it's a triple-time Latin dance ... is the name 'Cougar' the property of an alcohol company or a car company?? To use one of a million examples.

I was involved in sports prototype racing for most of my working life, team Jota have been around for many years, starting off racing Caterhams (Lotus 7’s) and production saloons. The guys got good and progressed to the international stage.

I think if there were to be a squabble about copyright on 'Jota', it might be from a different quarter.
The Lamborghini Miura, an Italian stallion which had received special tuning to become a 'Jota' in '70.
Roger Slater's ownership of a Miura, back in the mid '70s, was entirely coincidental.
As is the colour of this 'Jota'.
