was surprised to see this "Team Jota’s Cadillac V-Series.R"

"Jota Sport has grown to become one of the leading teams in the World Endurance Championship, where it has raced since 2016, first in the LMP2 category before graduating to the Hypercar class with a Porsche 963 in 2023. As Hertz Team Jota, the team won the Spa 6 Hours on the way to becoming Hypercar Teams’ Champions in 2024."

Is no name sacred?

😢 I propose a class action to fend off this denomination plagiarism.

If we don’t keep on top of it, people will start using an orange name as their forum handle if we are not careful

It's not like Moto Laverda invented the word Jota, FFS!! I use it in Scrabble - it's a triple-time Latin dance ... is the name 'Cougar' the property of an alcohol company or a car company?? To use one of a million examples.

I think if there were to be a squabble about copyright on 'Jota', it might be from a different quarter.
The Lamborghini Miura, an Italian stallion which had received special tuning to become a 'Jota' in '70.
Roger Slater's ownership of a Miura, back in the mid '70s, was entirely coincidental.;)
As is the colour of this 'Jota'.

When I first got on the net years ago I googled, it was before Google even, Jota and what came up was either an Oil and Gas Field or some speculartive mining thing in Outback Oz.
