Hi, just purchased a 1981 series 2 Jota
It has a 110 tyre on the rear and 100 on the front. I think it should be 120 rear, but has anyone upped this without affecting the handling? I was hoping to go at least 130

The 2.50" rear rim will accept a 130 tyre, but they are a bitch to fit and add nothing other than bragging rights. The chicken strip will out you as a lousy rider and your tyre fitter certainly will not invite you to a beer. Although the RGS was originally fitted with a 130 on a 2.50" rim, there is no technical reason for this. Same speed and similar load ratings as a 120... a 120 works way better. It offers a flatter profile resulting in a larger footprint using almost the entire tread width when cornering.

A 130 tyre requires a 3.00" or larger rim to be fully exploited.

After all, you pay for ALL the tyre, why only use half of it?
