Jota vs. 3C Exhaust

I have a 1975 Jotaized 3C that I am returning to 3C spec. What is the difference between the exhaust systems on a Jota vs. a 3C? Headers, collectors, mufflers. Thanks

Typically, the Jota came with Siamese big-bore collectors, 50mm comes to mind and with an oval shape. My 3c also has big-bore headers; they're pretty rare. Slator mufflers are typically empty of baffling and have larger outlet holes. All that makes them louder and the bikes faster, but visually it's hard to tell without measuring it, so why bother if what you have looks good and is not leaking and your neighbours don't try and punch on when you leave on early morning rides.

The headers/exhaust pipes were unchanged, between the 3c and Jota.

The Factory collector, while it met the Swiss noise regs. of the time, is a gas flow disaster.
I'd avoid one, unless the bike is intended for show, not go.

The Slater one is far superior, giving the spent gases a chance to escape.

The OEM mufflers/silencers demand four reversals of direction for the exhaust gas, as well as forcing it through small orifices and wadding. As a result they were prone to rusting from the inside out.
I believe modern copies are less restrictive.
