K1 vs K14 needles

I have recently built a set of Dellorto's and fitted them up to an engine had some new brassware in some NOS I had received with some parts.
Found flat response and assumed a weak mixture off the needle pulled the needles out and thanks to my sons far better eye sight than mine had fitted a set of K14 needles I have been looking everywhere to find out the difference between a K1 and K14 needle but havent found anything I assume the taper is different and the thickness in the lower section??
Can anyone tell me ????
The difference in the two needles on a 1000cc engine is huge how did they work on a 1200??

According to my Delordo manual there is no H serious needles, only W D X K and U needles.
The specs for K14 is width of top thick end 2.48mm
width of needle bottom 1.75mm
and length its tapered over is 33mm.

K1 needles 2.45 thick bit 1.75 thin bit over 37mm

Should not be a 'huge' change between K1 and K14?
But don't talk to me about bloody Dellortos. I come from the cane fields. I know nothing.

The 1200's always had worse carburation than the 1000's and were considerably thirstier. I was always led to believe it was the K14 needles to blame.

0.03 thicker (leaner) from closed throttle. The 4mm shorter taper would be similar to lifting the needle a notch or two?
And from Mark true Dellorto guru, very zen "I know nothing"! 🤘

Like you Maurice I failed to spot K14 had been fitted to a SFC1000 I worked on. Felt flat when accelerating through 5000-5500, almost misfiring. Swapped to K1 and the difference was remarkable

Maurice,

The K14 only (sort of) work in the 1200s with their associated internal air box baffling. They never worked as good as the 1000s with K1. I remove all baffling and fit K1s to the 1200s to cure (almost) all carb problems.
