1971 750 sf, Can anyone please tell me which hand the 32mm nut on the end of the crankshaft which holds the oil pump gear on is.

Use a rattle gun to remove and replace it - unless you have a special tool to hold the primary drive that will avoid damage.

I used the steel bar between primary and clutch sprockets about 5 times with good results ... until the last time I tried it ... and didn't (have good results!). Never again.
