LaiLa update

Far Canal.  :o :o 8)

Wonder if he will go into production producing parts to bolt onto our clunkers?

Needs a leg guard on that 3 individual exhaust pipes.Other than that it stunning.Been lots of talk about billet heads, appears there a couple coming soon

I wonder what material they are going to use for the main head/ barrels/ crankcase fixing studs & how they will strengthen the crankcase to stop them pulling the threads straight out of the alloy!!

i would think either 9mm waisted to 8mm similar to what is used in the 6 cyl porsche
maybe straight 8mm studs. smaller diameter studs will allow more stretch as the alloy expands with heat
with cam bearings on each stud pair the studs will all be equal length
offering same clamping pressure at same torque

cam bearings supporting each side of a lobe...i like that esp with what appears to be rather large gun drilling of the camshaft
cam sprockets look multi adjustable like the old alfa 4 cyl. speaking of alfa, franz is the guy that firist used alfa cam followers in a triple
allowing higher lift velocity from larger diameter and a greater choice of valve springs

i'm surprised at the size of the exhaust valve. wouldn't think you could get one that big in the available area with a 45mm inlet

what a great way for a engineer gearhead to spend retirement :-)

Dave,

LaiLa's frame looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.  Well spotted (or is that remembered  :D)

Lovely bikes both.

I wonder also where he gets all the Space from... Still 83 mm Bore...
Inlet 45 mm, Exhaust 38 mm, 308 degree Cam (like C/7), that means that the overlapping at Lobe from the Valves must be min. 4 mm... I think there must touch each other....

Even 42 mm inlet and 36 mm Exhaust Valves easy touching each other with C/4 Cams...

Narrowed the valve angle?  Don't recall the details of either, but he seems to be doing one "vaguely stock-ish" (which might keep major geometry like valve angle) and one all-out version no holds barred.  Also possible he's throwing a few curve balls out there to keep people guessing...  Is what I'd do. :P
