Laverda 200 chain set

Good evening folks.
I have found an example photo of the chain carrier here: https://ibb.co/h2qGgB4
Can you remove the chain carrier from the rest? Does anyone have any experience? Otherwise I would have to look for a company that can twist it off and weld a new ring back on.

Does anyone have Francois' contact details? Apparently he has already thought about the problem...https://laverdaforum.com/threads/laverda-200-crown-wheel.40792/

Arndt,

The design of the sprocket is unfortunately somewhat complicated, the toothed ring alone cannot be replaced. The sprocket and drive pins are integrally cast into the alloy hub part. AfaIk, absolute unobtanium, unless you have a fabulous streak of luck. Recent searches on italian jumbles have turned out fruitless. Finding a chain is no great problem.

The 200 design was carried over from the late-50's 100cc models. I faced much the same problem when I restored my 100, starting the restoration as the www was still in its' infancy. Sprocket teeth were worn beyond service limits, drive pins were all loose. Finding neither new parts nor contacts, I decided to design a multi-piece sprocket that I could manufacture in my own workshop. It's certainly not as elegant as the original, but has proven its' worth over several thousand trouble-free km. If you're interested, please get in touch, I'm certain we can arrange something.
