Reminds me of a mate, a likely lad, that purchased a Valiant car. He came to my house, covered in sweat, to borrow a 6’ length of pipe to use on his breaker bar. He said he couldn’t get the wheel nuts off on the right side wheels

“Sprocket (nickname) you know on Valiants they’re RH on the left wheels, LH on the right”

Sprocket 😳 “Fuck off dickhead” …… off he went with the pipe, to make them even tighter, eventually the penny dropped I guess 🤣

I recall as a teenager, helping a mate replace his water pump. We removed “all” the bolts and started hitting it with a hammer, because as I told him ‘sometimes gaskets can stick’. After a while his dad, a truck driver on night shift, leaned out his bedroom window and said in a croaky voice “you haven’t removed all the bolts Derek”. So me mate Derek had another look, and you’ll never guess what he found…
