The first thing I notice on some of the original local 3cs is how much thought the factory put into seat coverings. Smooth surface on the rider's end so they can slide across to weight in corners, and a textured pillion end so they don't slide about. Very clever.

… looks like the Austrian drummer, we discussed here recently! Ciao, Gert

That tank shape is so cool, colours great as well, metal flak, so groovy. If it wasn't for 3cs that would be my favourite Laverda. O yer I like my Atlas as well.

The original 3C seat had a fibreglass base. Maybe copies could be made in that material? The seats aren't easy to find these days, the last one I saw was on Subito.it ages ago.

Can second that, I asked him a few months ago with same reply. With help of a local upholsterer I had a nice result for my latest build, a 750 S/F2 hybrid.

Marnix
Small valve head with 30 VHB carbs, Marnix? Very cool livery!

Regards
Gerald

The seat on your foto is the original drum brake seat i believe.

Don’t want a modern bike and do want decent brakes. The basis is a 1970 GTF (frame + crankcase) that had been laying around fot 30 years, hence the Laverda rear drum. Everything else is composed from spares. Cylinder head is NOS with 4/S cam and have a NOS SF2 crankshaft. This is the third engine that I built up entirely from spares (others are a 1973 SFC engine and full SFC spec engine for the Segoni in the past few years). I have a complete S front end, but since it is intended to be a riding machine, I guess it will stay this way for years to come.
