Hi, 1983 Laverda 500 - the back light to both the ND speedo and rev counter no longer working and blue headlight light is very faint so need to replace. Any idea how to do this? Doesn't seem very obvious and I don't wish to pull the wiring out unless I have to. Also, are the bulbs coloured?

If they're the same as the triples, yes, unscrew the tiny plilps heads holding the chrome covers on the back of the instruments, and you then pull the rubber bulb holders out. DAM Laverda have the bulb holders as mine had perished. There are 3 different bulbs available, 4-watt, which tends to be a bit hot, 3.2-watt that run cooler but are hard to find and what I used for the back lights, LEDs that are not over bright and run cool and last really long. I didnt try them on the tell tail lights. Thank Piet for the tech stuff on bulbs and heat

I have replaced all mine with these I found on ebay, approx £9.00 for 10 Delivered
You just have to buy the 5w bulbs to go in them and re connect.
they were called T10 w5w RUBBER LIGHT SOCKET CONNECTORS
