LAVERDA 500

You could be right John , if they are running a dry sump or something, then a proper oil tank it is and I will end up with egg on my face again..

I'll buy you a beer next week !

Hi alls
First of all, thank you for the favorable comments.
At keith say that the connecting rod big end was enlarged to 0.03 mm and at the sides were milled passages for oil; the crankshaft metal disks have been removed and the oil will be sprayed on the bearings by two jets of an Audi engine.
The reservoir is connected to the breather of the motor that is required or suggested by the rules of many events.
It' s true that the indicator is perhaps a quirk, but I was forced to leave some freedom to the mechanical artists; also the color of the swingarm has this origin, but I think I'll change it.
The 500 cc engine capacity remained, with Formula pistons, but are under preparation new lighter pistons and will increase the compression ratio but not the CC.
As soon as I can I will send you more pictures and details of the valves,  manifolds and carburetors.
Finally, as regards the roses, I suggest everyone to leave some space in the garage or workshop even for the wifes!
Ciao
Ugo

Yes - but a 750SFC is a lot more bulletproof!!

for the price of a 750 SFC, you can buy 3-4 500 Formulas or about 8 standard 500's...

Now - buy two and make them bullet-proof (engine wise) and you are still below the cost of a 750 SFC with more power and a way lighter bike...

Compared to f.e. Michael St?ckers 500 performance (OK - the rider makes a point here, too...), there needs to be a lot of cash thrown at a 750 SFC to keep pace... almost 90 Kilo less weight on this 500 compared to a standard 750 SFC and roughly the same HP as the 750 SFC (if not more...) makes the 500 VERY competitive...

750 SFC for the collectors, 500's for the racers...  ;)

:D

Trick looking kit Ugo, many thanks for posting.

Interested to know more about that exhaust.

The exhaust are made of stainless steel 1 mm thick.
There are two manifolds attached to the head with the usual bolts.
The exhaust are attached to the manifolds with two springs.
Collectors are equipped with connections for the probes for the carburation

Ciao
