LAVERDA 750 SF1 barn find

Hi, two weeks ago I pulled out of a garden tool shed in Vienna a 1973 LAVERDA 750 SF1. It was there since 32 years, complete but in a sad state. A friend of mine will restore it now. Second barn find in two years  :D

Yes, top find!! Hmmm, even 32 years ago that colour scheme would probably have the same effect on practically anyone - quite amazing what some find aesthetically pleasing!! Very easily rectified, luckily.
 
Well someone has spent some effort on individualising that bike. I reckon you can do almost anything to it and it will be an improvement.

Just stay away from the exhaust wrap...

Hi Tippie, no, I sold it already to a friend of mine, who has now four 750 SF restoration projects. The high restoration costs scared me. If it had been an SF2 or SF3 I would have kept it ...

Back in the day, 70's and 80's, red frames and often red livery was considered to be cool. MV's and Magni's inspired a lot to
paint their bikes red. Rearsets, clip ons, hump seats, velocity stacks and aftermarket exhausts complemented the package.
In hindsight perhaps not the best choice(s), but part of the "Zeitgeist".....

Agree - same with me. I had an SF1 for 16 years, and, as you know, one can't jump into the same river twice. But if I would find an SF2 like Kristian in the
'1974 750 SF2 garage find' post, I definetely wouldn't turn my back on such a model!

Lots of Valiants in Coburg Victoria were painted in those colours in the 70s and 80s.

My friends parents valiant was over cooked oatmeal in color.  Be damned if it still wasn?t the tits but.  It was straight up cool

Wow, wish someone had explained that theory to me that about 48 years ago.
I have owned probably 30 Kawasaki triples in that time frame, most of them 750 H2s.
I think I have enough parts right now to put together about three of them and am actually working on one right now. And I'm still buying parts...

So that is a river well-traveled for me. And I'm not going to abandon it any time soon. :)

Eh, what?  This is BRG - RAL 6005.  Or to put it another way ...

It should be. Can't hold any marine tickets if colour blind. A skipper mate had learnt the test book off by heart. Went decades before they tripped him up, never had a problem night or day as skipper but he was firmly off the water. I never knew until he got done.
