Laverda Alpino brake discs

Having searched quite a bit for some original brake discs for my 500 Alpino project (as the originals were missing!) I came up with another solution. The discs are 260mm in diameter, and the rear disc from a Suzuki V strom are the same diameter and are freely available from £22 delivered (in the UK). However carriers have to be made to support the discs and obtain the correct position for the calliper alignment. The discs are 1mm less in thickness than the originals.
The carriers I made from high quality aluminium alloy 25mm thick machined in the lathe to accept the discs. (the alloy was left over from another project!)
This post may help someone who is struggling to find discs for their Alpino to finish a project.
The efficacity of the stainless discs is yet to be tested but will allow me continue on the project.
The Mass of the alloy/stainless assembly per unit is 200gms less than the cast iron disc items.
Discs are located by 4 high tensile M8 special set screws 8.8 /threadlock and the carrier by 6 stainless M8 screws with spring/plain washers and threadlock
I have a drawing of the carriers which I made prior to manufacture.

Nicely made 👍 take care you use the right breakpads. Cast iron or stainless steel needs other friction material

Ducati pantah’s use the same disc’s, sometime’s looking at other Italian bike’s of te era can turn up similar item’s that will fit.

Ducati Pantah discs are just as rare..... If not rarer...... I have looked at many other Italian bikes from the era and found few which are the same design.
