Laverda badge green

Just painting my tank badges and have used Humbrol Gloss Green #3 as recommended somewhere on here, but reckon it's too dark - there's a Gloss Emerald Green #2 that I reckon is much closer. Anyone got an opinion on this? At the very least I thought I might go the #2 Emerald and darken slightly with the #3 green.

Also wasn't at all happy with the finish using a bristle paintbrush and found spreading the enamel out with a thin metal 'spike' (a cut-down bicycle spoke) gave a much smoother finish.

Malcolm does enamel finished badges, the pics look impressive. I don't know if that means enamel fired in a kiln like copper Jewelry or enamel paint from a brush. Their finish is incredibly glossy.

Some eschew that, because "It's not how it came out of the factory!"
Presumably, they fit TT100 tyres, crap Regina chains and flaking chrome in their quest for originality.

My Humbrol colour matches those perfectly - not the best finish I've ever achieved but it'll do for now. Nice stuff, those enamelled ones via Malcolm

My forum has been playing up - started when I tried to watch one fo the Morgan Park vids - all worked except one, then the forum went into the endless scrolling circle thing. I had to close the tab and even after ten minutes nothing would load. Seems OK now.

I've enamelled most of mine. More durable than I am.
The replica badge paint is not very long lasting.

A bunch of years ago when I resurrected my brother's long dead 3C from under his house, I bought some Humbrol paints to re-do the tank badges. But when I mentioned it to him he said no, he preferred the patina of them looking all beat-up. They're mostly bare die-cast metal now, with just a few bits of colour left around the edges of the recesses.
