Laverda GT750

Hi lads, anyone have any info on Laverda gt750 #1648 please. I have a chance to buy it and it requires some work. Numbers match but it would need a tank rack, proper silencers (later on) and a few other repairs. Any information on values would be much appreciated too (uk). I have been out of the loop a little lately so would spares still be from the usual people? Wolfgang, oct, Andy Wagner etc? If any others now able to supply parts info would be much appreciated too. Thanks in advance.
Tyrone.

Hi Tyrone,
Very difficult pricing GT bits.
Nobody wants them and they're pretty rare.
Everyone want a sporty looking SF which they transform by putting bits of orange plastic on it and calling it SFC replica.

Silencers are readily available, for instance:

Stainless at Armours. Their silencers are good but keep away from their pipes.

That is great thanks Paul. Any idea of values of a ‘69 GT? Not for re sale but so that I don’t over pay when buying. Looking at the pipes there I estimate with a few other things I will need to spend about £500 to £600 on the bike. Any ideas where I could locate a tank rack if I end up buying the bike? Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add it is missing a chain guard too.

I think your estimate of parts prices may be a little bit of an underestimate. It's always the same things missing from any classic bike and they are always the most expensive to buy (obviously), why on ebay today I saw some Laverda carb parts from the USA for £20,000 quid I kid you not. That's without mentioning the £860 centre stand and the £860 headlamp bowl. Ok I'm being obtuse there but don't underestimate the costs.

Thanks for the reply mate. My estimate was without the chain guard, the prices I have seen on eBay etc are a joke and can’t see anyone with any sense paying them. I can get paint done relatively cheaply so from what I had seen of the bike I would only need a chain guard urgently and a tank rack. The silencers were useable but not the right ones so could be left to the future if needed. I had promised myself no more projects as I have two on the go with another waiting but it is a laverda 🤷‍♂️. We shall see. Thanks again.
