Last weekend, we attended what was probably one of the last meetings of the year in the Münsterland.
Laverda-Meeting Münsterland
The drive there isn't particularly far, but you’ve to go through the Ruhr region, which is known for being a collection of cities. And the Münsterland isn't exactly a revelation when it comes to curves.
I've heard people talk about GONK in connection with northern Germany. Translated into English AWONC (Area w/o Noteworthy Curves) might come close ...
We, my Beemer mate Bernd, Jürgen, Piet and I took on the way there a route that skirted the Ruhr region to the east, thus completely avoiding the use of highways. Here at a short break at the Sorpe reservoir. The roads were wet in places and it was quite chilly. Why the Beemer had to park secludedly, I don't know...
The meeting took place on an old farm. It was my first time there and I really liked the atmosphere:
The cool weather meant that we’d to dress warmly, but on the other hand, we always had enough pockets for our beer:
There's traditionally a lot of camping at this meeting. At the entrance to the camping area, there was an old fruit crate with segments from old license plates that you could use as a base for your stand. Very thoughtful...
This meeting also attracts many sidecar drivers, e.g., some of them are truly exotic, like this UFO-like specimen:
Other campers even brought fences, trash sorting, and pets to make themselves comfortable:
Friday evening ended in a cozy atmosphere, with most people retreating to the large barn:
Of course, we met many other Laverda riders we knew. It was nice to see Gerald's 3c:
She's wearing the orange livery I bought my 3c with in 2018.

Saturday morning started with torrential rain. That was pretty unfortunate for the organizer, because Saturday is usually the busiest day for them.
In the background you can see Tönn Voss, who organized this meeting for the 21st time (with his wife Elfriede, both now well over eighty). Tönn wearing the jacket with the Italian colors:
On Sunday morning, we met again for a farewell photo with the Hessian delegation:
Then we set off south again toward Rhineland. The weather wasn't good, but we still had lots of fun!

Cheers,
Jo
