Does anybody have any info on this bike or the owner? Pic was posted 2000 by a guy called Phil from Sheffield, England.

I'm digging deep into the murky areas of my memory bank here, but I do recall that Phil Oakey (of 'Human League' etc.) was a Laverda owner and rider in the '80's. Phil was from Sheffield - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Oakey

I can't remember which model he had, but I do know that it was non-standard and had Astralites - so a Motodd / Spondon / Harris or similar.

Anyone else able to add to this?

Alan :)

Hot custom seat  :o

Looks far more like an RGS seat, and not because it's a bit, errr, gay!

Don't normally go for this kind of thing, but tripped over this when I was looking for something else.....

I rather like it  ;)

Found the same bike on http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarkphoto/4120968014/, which at least has a date of November 2009. Looks like another attempt at artificial respiration that failed. Pity, looks really nice, but probably too expensive to manufacture in any quantity.

Are you watching "Cafe Racer" Tuesdays on Fox? America is now apparently the world centre for cafe racers. Apparently they love the whole mod v rocker scene (the clothes, the bikes, the haircuts but not the fights) and have huge rallys.

It is worth watching for the original footage from the UK as well as the bikes, though I don't quite get the electric Norton. It ain't a bike without the sound.
