I have known him to sleep outside under a square tarpaulin sheet pinned to the ground and tied to his handlebars and seat in cold and very wet weather, when there was a hostel with beds and a roaring log fire five yards from his resting place, I have done the same, but in high summer and only for a (maybe) four/five hour stop, never in bad weather, and I can count the times on one hand leaving out two fingers, Andy did it all the time.

I did have a photo somewhere of Andy and his then girlfriend Renate sleeping under the Laverda V6 at the do we did at Monthléry in 2000.

I remember the 1997 Breganze sleeping quarters quite well! there was one ready made bed on the entire sports complex that was designated as the camping area, (not the one by the church, fortunately but the one behind Oro's old shop) it was the physio's couch and Monsour Marx got in quick and nabbed it, nice bed, storage below, nice and warm, roof over, whats not too like, but be bleeding Jesus, you woulnd't want to have to endure the stink on Sunday morning when the grub and beer/wine was being recycled in the nearby gents toilets approx 5 metres away, and he slept in well late the old dosser, I later heard, Me and my son Tom, were gone by 06-00hrs I wondered what it was going to be like later, and we were in bed at home the following day, 1000 miles apart, by 02-00hrs the following day, and that was only because we had to wait for less than regular night time Dunquerque/Ramsgate ferries.

Not quite Clem.
I had my special SFC tent which would go in a pocket of my vest. But that tent collapsed during the hail storm so I moved in from the sports lawn to the sports hall, complete with my SFC. I did sleep on a massage table and probably woke a few people up riding into the sports hall. ( Where the back pack with the Tamiello book we were offered was stolen)
Charlotte and I took 3 days to ride home, and that was on motorways which we unfortunately took. Corinne and I took 3 days each way in 2019 with just a quick motorway spurt through Switzerland.
