Does anyone know WTF they were trying to do, or market they were trying to attract, by adding these gawd awful covers to the RGS? I know BMW’s of the era had similar covers.

I think they look pretty good on the RGS and the fairing liner. Makes for a clean line

Don’t use mine. There are some useful bolt holes under there for attaching stuff. But look nice on the bike
