Laverda SF 750

Question I have a 73 SF1 that the rod came thru the bottom end I have an earlier SF engine are the bottom ends the same in all years and can you transfer a bottom end from one engine to another I’d like to save the numbers Peter

I once worked with a guy who used to sell parts and used 750s.
We've done that sometimes just to keep matching numbers.
Never had any issues afterwards.

I know of another with the same result. There was no discernible difference between the matched and un-matched cases. It will be easy to see if they don't fit.

You need to be lucky when doing this, and preferably have a number of crankcases at hand to see which one fits best. Generally speaking I wouldn’t recommend attempting it, binding bearings or smearing heaps of silicone gasket is often the result.

Yep
Much better to stamp new numbers on the cases.
Some people are very good at it.
