Laverda SF1 cam chain

The split link on the cam chain on my bike is a butchered. The cam chain appears in good condition but since it's all apart I think we'll replace the chain in it's entirety.

Plenty of BSA Bantams in the UK.
No problem ordering from the EU or vice versa.

Definitive? Not sure what you mean. Jason is in UK, and has the spec for Laverda chains. I have chains from him in my SFs. When fitting one to a stock SF2 his Iwis was too tight, something to do with the spec, and I got a chain from OCT for that bike. The chain that wouldn't fit that bike went straight into another SF without problems, I suspect it was an unskimmed head (most have been by now) and gaskets on the thick side - there is quite a bit of variation there.

I don't believe the head has been skimmed - I don't know if my gasket is thick / thin. If the chain's too tight then I can't use it right? Better to not source an iwis chain in the first place?

You do have to tighten the head down using shims, dowels, under the head nuts, to be able to close the cam chain.

The DID (I think it was) from OCT will go straight on. Of course with the head tightened down, or else no new chain will fit.
