Hi,
Apologies for this been my first post. My dad died recently and i've been tasked to sort out his estate. He left a Laverda Strike 750. I do not know alot about this bike so would appreciate some help valueing it. Feel free to make offers too :)

Dad SORN'd it back in 2019. I believe due to it requiring a fuel pump and cam chain replacement. Neither had failed they where just in need of replacing.

Besides been dirty and dusty the bike is in quite nice condtion. All body work looks good as do the exhausts etc

It has a V5 and keys.

Dad rebuilt the engine when he bought it many years ago; i believe with advise from this forum!

Photos attached.

Many Thanks in advance,
Shaun.

Sadly the Zane bikes don’t do particularly well if they have been left - cam chains are unobtanium - are you sure it needs one as they should last 60 k and other things will go before it as a non runner I would estimate £1500
Thank you i appreciate the post :)

The last conversation i had with dad about this bike he mentioned the Camchain and how he and some other members of this gorup, or another, were trying to get a batch made. I believe this along with the fuel pump (And his deteriating health) is why he SORNd the bike.

Many Thanks,
Shaun.

I echo what Adam has said, a non running Zane isn’t going to command a very high price. If you can get it running you maybe able to get around £2.5k-£3k for it.

Gotta admire the Rapier - like wit ........
When I was a kid I used to be the Saturday boy at an MOT garage , I would write out the VT30M advisory forms and wiggle the wheels, operate lights and electrics, pass the bloke his torch etc and guide the customers as they drove onto the inspection pit- obvious job for a fourteen year old! Anyway, Sunbeam Rapiers ( last sleek version) had a bolt on body, bolt holes rust and the whole body detaches, so these were pretty much at the end of their days. We couldn’t put DAF varios on the brake tester because they would shed the drive belts and I used to lay a gulley in the pit for three wheeler Reliants- can you imagine letting a kid wave on some old fart driving an invalid cartridge over a narrow Chanel over a six foot hole? Great days!

The pale blue Invacars were designed and produced by Bert Greeves and his cousin Derry Preston-Cobb , just after WW2 to start with .......... to provide transport for the paralysed Preston-Cobb , and injured ex-servicemen initially ............

Greeves are better known to us for their moto-cross and enduro bikes ( Challenger ,; Griffon ) ...... and trials bikes ( Anglian ; Pathfinder ) ...... and well known factory riders such as Vic Allan and Bryan " Wildman " Wade ........

The Greeves moto-x alloy frame front down tube was H-section , and said to be unbreakable .......... Obviously there are photos to be found showing it snapped in two ...........

I have a vague recollection of earlier three wheeled transport for the crippled ......... this time being a tricycle where the seated occupant would propel it by hand levers or cranks mounted at chest height in front of him ......... drive then being taken by chain to the rear two wheeled axle ........

I guess getting the chance to pilot an Invacar would be a blessed relief compared to that ..........
