Laverda Tappet for SF1 1973

When I've soured them in Oz the importer said he sells quite a few to 60s/70s Ferrari rebuilders as they are a good fix for them as well.

Going std is fine if you're happy to see the pitting problem persist - if you only ride a few thousand km a year it won't be an issue. Personally if I can make a permanent fix to a problem that is never going to go away I'll go for it, especially if the head is completely disassembled for a freshen up. To each their own. As mentioned, it's highly unlikely to be just the tappet that is compromised - check all valve tips. And I ask myself - if the factory had had this type of adjuster available in 1968, would they still have fitted the 'problem' ones?

Why fit billet cam blocks to a triple head? Surely what the factory used was chosen by skilled engineers? Just sayin' ...

Probably why when some say keep it Factory my eyes roll. Just time and more recent tech, seems a no brainer to me.

With two race bike heads fully dismantled for rebuild, I'm interested in a source for eight of these if the right conditions can be found please. Or 12 planning ahead for the next?

As i suspected, Marty - something going terribly wrong with the world of profit-taking in Europe! A$22 couldn't be more than about 14 euro.

How long ago was that please?

Has anyone tried the Fiat 500 ones above? The used one i recieved is pitted and is far more worn/ground than my originals l i wont be using it.

Don't use the Fiat parts!
Bc of the wrong radius the valve heads
will soon be damaged/worn out.
Take a look:
1= original
2= copy
3= Fiat
