It is usually difficult to remove the swing arm bearing silent block.
This is very easy with the following trick:
1. Measure the distance between the inner sleeve and the thinner outer sleeve (thickness of the pressed rubber) = "Dimension A"
2. Measure the thickness of the thin outer ring (usually 0.5 mm) = "Dimension B"
3. Take a drill with the diameter: 2 x "Dimension B" + "Dimension A"
4. Using this drill, drill a hole horizontally between the inner sleeve and the outer ring as deep as the width of the silent block.
Result = the outer ring is opened at one point
5. Take a drill with diameter "A" and drill around 15-20 holes in a circle in the pressed rubber as deep as the silent block is wide.
6. Now the inner sleeve and the remaining rubber can be easily removed
7. You can also bend the (almost) open outer ring slightly inwards and then remove it
Finished
Before installing a new needle bearing or silent block, please remove rust and unevenness first.
Good luck from Thomas aus LAU
