LAVERDA Visitor from Mallorca

Hi, four weeks ago I had a visitor from Mallorca in my workshop: Miguel - "Michipons" on this forum" - was in Vienna on a business-trip. He's the proud owner of two LAVERDAs. After an extensive tour to the workshop bike-talk was continued at the pub with beer and 'Wiener Schnitzel'. Always great to have international LAVERDA visits, even better to meet young sympathetic people interested in LAVERDAs like Miguel. Ciao, Gert

There are a few young ones like us in Mallorca.  On one side you have Miguel who likes to be more original than not , then you have me on the other side of the scale that prefers things more modified than original.  Miguel is one cool dude.

The visit to Gert workshop was great, I learnt a lot, specially about Sulzbacher Laverdas, really beautiful bikes. And where to eat a good Schnitzel. Thank you Gert!

Thanks to the camaraderie of the forum, I have 2 Laverdas, so I have one available for  whoever visit us in Mallorca 😜 (so I told my wife, I don?t know what I will say for the third Laverda).

Todd! I have to admit I like modifications a lot as well, but that makes everything much more complex, and requires much more experience and equipment, but is a project in mind. I am really excited to see yours finished, Mallorca will be too small for that bike, we will have to take the ferry to BCN for couple of days🤣

Gert certainly knows where to take visitors for a good Schnitzel and a great night out 
 
Good on you, Gert. Always great to hear the how the welcome mat comes out for Laverda tragics across the world. I don't think there are any owners in your age group in Oz, Miguel! Great to see. And you're dead right about modified bikes - the SFQ creeps ever closer ... as the years go by!!  :o
 
I don?t know how old Mick is but in oz there is joey 34, Virgil, 42, me 45, dean Nash mid 30s I?d say, Maxine she?s about 30 I think she said
 
I am not that young, 34. But it is true that at least in Spain, there are just a few people in my age who are in to classic bikes, and Laverda even less. For me at least, is different than other "older" people in my classic group, I don't have a cultural/sentimental connection to many classic models, is just an aesthetic feeling. Some models I like, some others not, independently (not totally) to their historic value...

It doesn't help that in Spain, there is not a big tradition on classic vehicles, probably the huge restrictions from the state aren't helping either...

I was thinking continental tour.... next september I want to finish the tour in Porto Cervo for a regatta that I have to be there for . So consider it a couple of months mr Miguel... besides it will get us away from our kids  8)
 
I can vouch for the hospitality of Gert and many other Laverda owners who took me under their wing and showed me around, helped me if I had a problem or put me up for a night or two😀👍
