Laverdaforum.com navigation changes

Been having a bit of a tinker with the website navigation. I hope that it is fairly transparent to you all. But it means I now have everything under one application instead of two with multiple plugins to look after security.

So you can jump straight to the forum from the main https://laverdaforum.com website address You will then need to use the navigation index to open the list of forum boards that most of you will be used to seeing.

If you don't update your bookmark for the site (which is probably https://laverdaforum.com/xf) then you should automatically be routed to the same place.

oh, it looks so different and I am confused but will find out as I can manage my Laverdas 😂
 
My old link didn't work and had to Google " laverda forum" to get here. The navigation looks different but I will muddle my through. Keeps the old brain on edge...
 
Me again. I realized I have not been on for a day or two and there are only 4 new discussion topics which started this morning. I guess the refresh reset this? Or am I already lost?😂😂
 
Thanks Rob...I stumbled around and figured it out. And apparently fat fingered the italics icon as well🤪.

When I worked at IBM I told the the project managers once the user testers were done testing new s/w releases , let me give it a go....I will find a way to show something thats intuitive to everyone else I can't figure out.

No, there shouldn't be any difference. Same server and same software.
The server did run out of connections to the database at 0257 BST. That may have caused your post to be lost.

Nice work Rob, your efforts are appreciated. I initially didn't notice any difference, since I always access the pages via a pinned tab and just go for the latest 'new posts' link to refresh. But I see now the main domain page now lands you right into the forum front page instead of that launch page which was always a bit clunky. Works well here.

Note for some, the change required me to log in again. So if you're having trouble with navigation or posting, just check you're logged in.
 
It's been fine on my Laptop since it happened. I love the way you try to improve this stuff Rob so please don't take offence with this reply. A couple of extra button pushes are no big deal. Today I tried my Android phone and it's missing a lot of access. All I can get after logging in is a list of New Threads, I cannot see any way to access the major buttons like Forum Library Or New posts or the Home page with Major Headings like General and Technical etc. At the end of that upper control panel I can see, there is the usual square box with 3 horizontal lines that usually have multiple function assess, it does nothing on my phone. My Laptop on Windows 11 has 2 control panels here, on my Android one is completely missing. Mostly I go here on my Laptop but on multiday rides, it's my phone. I am a ham-fisted novis with this stuff so it could be my phone setup, but I have tried every button I can find and this stuff doesnt come up, on my Laptop yes, phone no.

To navigate, you need to click once on the three horizontal bars top left of the screen.
That will open a window with multiple index headings. Those with arrows have further subheadings under them. I've added a couple of screen grabs to show what I'm talking about.

Hi, Rob what's happening is my phone opens on the home page and shows Latest Media and neither one of those square line icons work, they don't open anything so I cannot get to other pages. It all works fine on my Laptop.
 
I cannot post a reply on my phone, it won't allow the keyboard to work. I have a suspicion it's cropping the screen and that would show that square icon drop box and the keyboard icon. I bet it's my phone settings.
 
That's an odd one, Vince.
The menu and navigation buttons are using standard browser functionality. Maybe worth resetting all your browser settings to standard, checking it is updated to current version or worst case uninstall and reinstall.
