Laverdas for sale in Vermont

The 750 is perhaps the least attractive of the bunch. The rest of the collection range from noteworthy, to absolute 5 star gems IMO.

Yes, that 750 is an oddity that's been horribly mangled and the worst offense is the modern exhaust can. The current bike market has cooled, so his prices are "optimistic".

That's the final piece I needed- I recall seeing those pics- the Bundy Modern owner is/was a member here, his forum name is 'ducky'. You would think a free post here would've occurred to him!
I cannot imagine why he wouldn’t want to list his bike here so he could see first hand just what is thought of his choices of modifications. Who would be able to pass up an opportunity like that? 🙄

I know Australians are big fans of bikes and cars- ala Mad Max-why are the online prices I see from OZ so high? The story I've heard is that years ago Aussies bought a large shipment of Brit bikes. They've also produced some of the best Moto GP riders.

Might be the exchange rate-

Shipping costs have doubled since Covid. Its now only financially viable to bring a bike to Oz if its just not already available here already or your a well rich buggar. Thats why I bought my Atlas out of England and shipped it at eye watering shipping cost to Oz.

Everything from there has had ludicrous shipping costs for some time, it must have affected their balance of trade and been the big catalyst for today's shitfight, because nobody buys something for $50 and pays hundreds in shipping costs.

Just this last year a local Moto Guzzi shop acquired a dusty SFC had the entire bike Vapor blasted and away it went to Australia.
If you're talking a 750SFC then the purchase-price to transport-cost ratio is very low c/w a much cheaper buy. There's a beautiful original SF2 I saw this week on FB (I think in Passione Laverda 750 SF - SFC ... looked a genuine sale) for a very fair price. But importing to Oz would kill it.

The cost of sea freight from northern europe is not that bad, but what really hurts here in AUS is the charges of the port authorities, customs and AQIS and the freight forwarders.
These costs will equal, or be more expensive than the freight costs, and of course, that is without the costs of GST (VAT) being added to your purchase and freight costs.

You do have to be committed to a purchase, but if the model you desire was never imported into AUS then you are in a quandry.

An example of this is a beautiful 75cc Sport, purchased in Italy for around AUD6.5k, AUD 2.5k for seafreight, including crating, AUD4k for handling at this end - then you pay GST on the purchase and freight at 10% AUD 0.9k. These are real 2024/25 costs.
Handling at this end includes such nebulous items as computer time, faxes, phone calls, document handling,.........
Lucky we have 'AI' assisting our computerised systems.
Not my experience, but a close friends experience.
Should you be unlucky enough to have a 'asbestos declaration' that is NOT accepted, or a particularly officious AQIS officer who takes the 'as new' requirement as just that when it comes to the items condition, then you are basically donald ducked as costs escalate on a day by day basis while all is sorted to their requirements. By all accounts this does not happen very often, but is does happen.

Investigation of importing from the US seems even more fraught with costs, especially those in getting a bike to a shipping port, crated, ready to go. And that was before the New Sheriff Muppet appeared again.
