Had this same problem decades ago. I believe its leaking where my finger is. Took off the bowl. But the needle is free. Put it back together and is was ok for a few weeks then leaking again. I have a rebuild kit but thought I would post this before I rebuild. What should I look for??? Is there something in the ports? Or Is this a finished carb?

Most likely the rubber tipped fuel stop valve has failed.

I forgot to fit the fibre washer under my seat after a dismantle opnce many decades ago - overflowed and filled the cylinder - luckily without destroying a rod!
Ok I'll check the needle & seat.
I swapped that leaking carb w/ a rebuilt one. Its 1 1/2 turn out from closed mixture which is too lean. (last time it would overheat & die) Started it a little richer. Now I'm having problems w/ getting it right. One side is not firing?

It's never in the centre... that needle flops around like a young pups' tail when in use. Needle and needle jet have nothing at all to do with leaks.
Your needle jet looks horribly corroded, good chance it's also pretty worn (out). Matter of course to replace both needle jet and needle, along with anything else that shows signs of corrosion. No point at all trying to adjust anything until the carbs are in half-decent internal condition. The carb leaks because the float valve sin't doing its' job. With the corrosion present, good chance the valve seat is knackered.
Might be a good idea to get hold of a handbook explaining carb working principles.

Yes it is corroded. Haven't cleaned it yet. Carb was rebuilt about 4 years ago & put on Laverda Gt 15538. Ran beautifully. Started leaking last May. Bike sat for 6 months. Thought it was the tank! Finally got to it. It was the carb not the tank. Haven't done anything to the carb since May.
